Licensed Practical Nurse

The Telehealth Clinical Technician (TCT) is a Licensed Practical Nurse that serves in a generalist role to support Telehealth clinical programs from the patient location, while independently providing day-to-day programmatic oversight under general supervision. The incumbent will be responsible for video-conferencing technologies, Telehealth technology and scheduling software to coordinate and connect staff, resources, patients and providers in the manner effective to delivery of services, patient care, education and training. Duties include but are not limited to:
Serves as site imager for Store and Forward Telehealth (SFT) applications, facilitator for real time Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) encounters and assisting Home Telehealth (HT); Acts as trainer for CVT tele-providers, as well as the video teleconferencing system expert at his/her location with V-Tel equipment installations for clinical use, providing technical and scheduling support, and other program support duties; Uses independent technical knowledge and skills complex in nature which contribute to the Veteran's treatment plan and support the successful completion of the Telehealth visit; Contributes to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and facilitates their application at the patient and provider locations; Conducts quality control procedures on equipment and products and maintains proper records for quality control reports and workload reporting; Responds to patients' nursing needs, including physical and emotional comfort and recognizing deviations from the normal; and Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of all local, regional and national requirements as it relates to Telehealth, all Telehealth modalities and active programs, Telehealth equipment set-up, maintenance, trouble-shooting and collaborative and or preventative patient care modalities and treatment. 30 p.m. Basic Requirements:
Citizenship. Citizen of the United States. (Noncitizen may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with chapter 3, section A, paragraph 3g, this part. Education. Graduate of a school of practical or vocational nursing approved by the appropriate State agency and/or accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) at the time the program was completed by the applicant. Verification can be obtained from the State approving agency or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission , 61 Broadway, 33rd Floor, New York, NY 10006. Licensure. Full, active, current and unrestricted licensure as a licensed practical or vocational nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or District of Columbia. English Language Proficiency. Licensed practical or vocational nurses appointed to direct patient care positions must be proficient in both spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d). Preferred
Experience:
2-4 years of experience as an LPN, working in a telehealth or outpatient clinic preferred. Grade Determinations:
Completion of at least one (1) year of additional qualifying experience at the GS-6 level or equivalent, fully meeting all of the performance requirements for the GS-6 LPN/LVN. The GS-7 grade level is for select, complex LPN/LVN positions, as established by each health care facility. To be advanced, employees must meet all of the standards, provided the standard is part of their assignment.NOTE:
Determinations concerning placement of positions at this grade level shall take into consideration the skill mix and the availability of supervision in the work unit. Although these positions are under the supervision of an RN and/or MD/DO, employees in such settings successfully and consistently demonstrate the exercise of independent technical judgment (without the need for readily available supervision), as well as a comprehensive and thorough working knowledge of the most complex or difficult practices and procedures. Such individuals may also serve as leaders or co-leaders in a nursing unit or for a specifically identified group of patients. Physical Requirements:
This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. This position requires potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing. Transferring patients and objects may be required. Mechanical inpatient lifts are provided. The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations. The incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders. The incumbent must be a mature, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situations, able to shift priorities based on patient needs. Must complete annual Employee Health requirements, such as annual TB screening or testing, as a condition of employment. The incumbent who provides care in home settings or other off-site locations may be required to drive and/or ride in GSA-vehicles. References:

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
